David Primus
David's resume
David has over thirty-five years of experience in technology and management. In the first portion of his career, he directed programs in academic computing, telecommunications and information technology. In 1999 he joined a software development startup as a member of the senior management team. He was instrumental in helping the company mature and evolve, resulting in a successful sale in late 2013.
Throughout his career he has successfully planned and implemented technology projects in both the public and private sectors. Serving as the project manager he directed teams of technology, documentation, and training specialists to ensure timely and successful implementations. He regularly communicated with staff and management, resulting in clear expectations and understanding of why the improvements would help the company succeed.
As Vice President/COO of the software development company, he managed company operations including Software Development, Human Resources, Information Technology, Sales, and Client Services. The majority of the company’s personnel telecommuted; David implemented systems, policies, and programs that made this successful. He also facilitated quarterly strategic planning retreats and was responsible for an annual customer training seminar.
While his experiences have been the best teacher, he has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and a Masters Certificate in Project Management.
David is passionate about history - he was a long-time member and chair of the Gunnison County Historic Preservation Commission and is a past board member of the Denver, South Park, and Pacific Historical society.
In his free time, he presents historical slide shows, repairs antique clocks, builds electronic projects based on a Raspberry Pi, and researches historic maps.
